National Picnic Week
National Picnic week is here once again, and at Malvern Garden Buildings we love it! It’s time to dig out those tartan blankets and slap on the sun cream (or throw on a fleecy jumper, dependent on the weather!).
The French started the fashion for picnics when they opened their royal parks to the public after the revolution of 1789. And since then, it’s become a favourite pastime of families during the summer. National Picnic Week is from 16th – 25th June this year so you have all this week to get planning the perfect picnic to enjoy with family and friends.
If it’s a gloomy day on your chosen day, do not fear! Because you can transform your Malvern Garden Building into your very own mini café for the day! Nothing can stop the al fresco dining fun! In fact, a cold picnic day means you can be even more creative with your food, and opt for some warm snacks too. How about some warm flaky sausage rolls or delicious, spicy Indian snacks? Maybe you can all gather around for a tasty cheese fondue? And don’t forget the warming hot chocolate to swill it all down!
But if the weather is fine, be sure to include everyone’s picnic favourites – sandwiches, crisps and sweet treats, plus you can make things a little more exotic with some fruit punch or fruity mocktails! Just grab a big jug, drop in some chopped up strawberries, raspberries or any other of your favourite fruits and top up with lemonade or soda water. Who says you can’t feel like you’re on holiday in your own back garden?
So make sure you celebrate National Picnic Week this week in your Malvern Garden Building, whatever the weather! It’s a great excuse to get together with family and friends and enjoy the great outdoors in your beautiful garden building.
