The Kew Collection
It’s already been an exciting year at Malvern Garden Buildings, as we enjoyed yet another wonderful RHS Chelsea Flower Show with our artisans, showcasing the very best in British creative design and craftsmanship. It was a fantastic way to follow on from a superb 2017 show where we launched our popular Kew Collection range of buildings.
If you haven’t checked out these buildings yet, why not? We are extremely proud of this exclusive collection, which plays homage to the iconic glass houses of Kew gardens. The Kew Collection references their distinctive architectural design features, resulting in a more refined product with finer attention to detail, and adding that special something to the buildings.
First up, is the Kew Victoria garden building. This is a grand summerhouse, designed to evoke a feeling of nostalgia – of a well-loved, much-used garden retreat. From more obvious references like the glass-to-ground glazing – reminiscent of Kew’s magnificent glass houses: the Palm House; the Temperate House – to more subtle details like the pewter-style ironmongery and roof finials, the Kew Victoria offers a number of carefully chosen design features – exclusive to the Kew Collection – which set it apart from other garden buildings. This stunning garden building will prove timeless in style and enduring in quality.
Next is the Kew Imperial. The wonderful shape of the Imperial creates an inviting space from which to enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of the garden. Elegant and classically designed, the octagonal shape of the building enables it to fit perfectly into various positions within your outside space. Again, drawing inspiration from the grand glasshouses of Kew, the floor-to-ceiling Georgian-style windows can be fully opened, allowing you to welcome the outdoors in. The style and quality of the thoughtfully-designed Kew Imperial result in a majestic garden building.
And finally, we have the Kew Darwin. Designed to be much more than just a normal shed, the Darwin is a charming building with beautiful proportions and all the finishing touches of the Kew Collection. Featuring the same pewter-style ironmongery and Western Red Cedar shingle roof as the Victoria and the Imperial, it is these details that elevate the Kew Darwin above the realms of a standard shed. Practically, it is roomy and versatile, providing space to store and organise; aesthetically, its design and construction quality make it a beautiful feature to have in any garden. Opening windows make the Kew Darwin a delightful place to work and potter.
These three buildings are exclusive to Malvern Garden Buildings, and create a collection of luxury outdoor buildings which are handcrafted in the UK using traditional, time-honoured joinery techniques, and feature specially selected finishing touches. In addition, the Kew Collection celebrates Kew and Malvern’s shared love of nature and the outdoors, and allows others to experience these pleasures too.
