James and Freddie

Sourcing plants from all over the world

Freddie Heathcote, managing director and co-founder of Green & Bloom Ltd, was first offered the opportunity to work for Arnott and Mason in the flower market in London in 2013. Having got to know the owner at the time in the hospitality industry in North Norfolk, and keen to spread his wings further afield, he jumped at the opportunity.

Green & Bloom have been supplied by the Royal Windsor estate for over 20 years, with seasonal bedding and Christmas poinsettia all grown in the grounds of the castle.

Freddie says “We hope that through James’ design we can demonstrate the diversity of the plant products we can supply.”

Bringing Planet Studio to life

James is a long-standing customer, previously of Arnott and Mason and now Green & Bloom since their merger. James expressed an interest in collaborating for Chelsea 2022, and Green & Bloom were super excited to do so. For Planet Studio, they have supplied all of the plants; inside and out, big and small, flowering and non-flowering. Freddie says:

“Watching James’ vision come to ‘life’ with intricate styling detail of plants is very exciting. As a wholesaler, it’s very pleasing to see what can be done with the products we sell day in, day out. His creativity knows no bounds and seeing the ways in which he can utilise a space to create his vision is extraordinary.”

Meet the Botanical Boys
Retailer of Green & Bloom plants

Ben and Darren’s adventures started back in 2009 when they moved into a garden flat in East London. They renovated a Japanese and Italian water garden from its overgrown past, but with no prior garden experience they got stuck into books and learned everything there was to know about pruning shrubs and planting.

Inspired by what they had achieved, they decided to broaden their horizons after a trip to Ben’s homeland, South Africa, where they discovered a liking for succulent plants and container gardening. Ben and Darren started building terrariums in their dining room in the evenings after work and set up a workshop, and in September 2016 they established Botanical Boys and formalised a plan to run terrarium masterclasses in their spare time.

By August 2019 Darren had opened his first shop in the new trendy district of Coal Drops Yard allowing him to expand on his botanical offerings, largely supplied by Green & Bloom.
