Malvern Garden Buildings Returns to Malvern Spring Festival 2023

Located in the Three Counties Showground, amongst the scenic Malvern Hills, Malvern Spring Festival offers visitors a host of inspiring show gardens, beautiful blooms and a series of talks and demonstrations hosted by horticultural experts and personalities.

As well as showcasing our range of premium garden buildings and luxury retreats, this year we’re supplying Helyers of Hampshire one of our Studio Pavilion buildings for their show garden; Expression.

Expression: Celebrating Pablo Picasso

Creating a space from the perspective of an artist, the synergy between artistic endeavours and creativity, as well as a place to calm the chaos is what Helyers of Hampshire hopes their show garden, designed by Stuart Bugby; ‘Expression’ will evoke for visitors.

The triangular shapes featured in the design will bring a sense of power and strength and are reminiscent of brushstrokes used by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. The show garden design will celebrate the 50^th  anniversary of Picasso’s death.

The space will aim to nourish the senses as visitors travel creatively from the inside out and back again.

Meet Stuart Bugby

Stuart Bugby, Heylers Senior Garden Designer, has imagined their unique and arty show garden. We spoke to Stuart to find out more about him and the intriguing garden design.

“As senior garden designer at Helyers, and with over 25 years in the industry, a diploma in garden design and horticulture science, and a wealth of experience in garden maintenance, I remain as passionate about garden design as ever.

“I am most delighted to be at the Malvern Spring Festival this year and am extremely proud of the design – as is everybody here at Helyers. We cannot wait to start building it!

“I am looking forward to quite simply the opportunity to share our vision and passion.”

A Place to Create

“The Studio Pavilion supplied by Malvern Garden Buildings is simple and functional. It lends itself perfectly to our design and offers a place to be creative as well as somewhere to enjoy the garden from.

“We are pleased to share that we are re-using broken copper slate paving to create our paths in an attempt to both highlight and show alternative eco-friendly material choices can be just as beautiful and durable.

“Our design will offer show visitors a beautiful, well considered space that offers nourishment, contentment, creativity, inspiration and sustainability. The garden will promote peace and contemplation as well as peaking visitors’ interest – taking them on a sensory journey, both inside the garden building and out.”
