Colour painted finish

A comprehensive paint system is applied prior to the building leaving the factory. The paint system comprises of an initial undercoat and a further topcoat of your chosen colour. We also offer a colour matching service for an additional cost.

Paint process

1. A shellac-based primer and sealer is applied to all knots
2. All building sections to go through our treatment tank where they are completely immersed in a premium protection product which contains a wax and resin-based solution
3. Sections are then left to dry out
4. All nail holes are hand filled
5. All sections are undercoated with Teknos Aquaprimer, which is applied using spray guns
6. All surfaces are lightly abraded with a fine grade abrasive paper to prepare for the topcoat of paint
7. The Teknos Aquatop opaque finish topcoat, in the customer’s chosen colour, is applied using spray guns

Clear lacquer

We also offer a clear semi-gloss lacquer option. This process involves the building being treated with a standard treatment and then over sprayed with a clear semi-gloss lacquer producing a hard durable finish. This is not available on barnstyle clad or pressure treated buildings.
