Bases

All buildings require a level, solid base; either paving slabs, concrete, steel frame or timber decking upon which to install the building. It is important the base is the correct size and no smaller than the footprint of the building. The base should also be a minimum of 4”/102mm in depth and must be level. If your property is a a new build (<2 years), a site visit will be required. We are able to provide 2 types of bases for customers.

Concrete base

Our concrete base is charged per square ft with a minimum charge of £750. To install a concrete base, we’d need a site that is clear of tree roots and is relatively flat.

Our team will dig down into the grass/soil before laying the concrete. Soil from digging can either be redistributed within your garden or if required, our team will remove this for an additional cost. The price will be calculated based on how much spoil there is. Tipping will be no more than 10% of the cost of the base.

Geographical, tipping and restricted access charges may also apply. Further details are available upon a follow up call with the base technician.

Dry base

The dry base system is a galvanised, height adjustable, steel frame that is fully retractable. Compared to a full concrete base, steel structures are lighter and have less of an impact on the environment since they require less extensive foundations. The Dry Base system is charged per square ft. Geographical and restricted access charges may also apply. Tipping is not required for a Dry Base. If an installation has to be cancelled due to an inadequate base, a return journey charge will be payable.
