Lining and Insulation
Lining
Tongue and groove lining
Our 12mm redwood tongue and groove lining – also known as matchboard lining, is not painted as standard. You can paint this yourself a few months after installation. We also now offer a 12mm whitewashed tongue and groove lining. Both these options will come with Ufoil insulation as standard between the lining and building frame or 40mm solid board cavity insulation can be fitted as an alternative.
Painted MDF lining
Our moisture resistant, painted MDF lining is available in 2 widths and various colours. This will come with Ufoil insulation as standard between the lining and building frame frame or 40mm solid board cavity insulation can be fitted as an alternative.
Decorative wallboard
Our decorative wallboard is made of felt with veneered boarding with high-quality acoustic properties. This is available for bespoke garden offices. We offer this in 5 colours – Ebony, Sapele, Siberian Oak, Walnut and Classic Oak.
Insulation
Ufoil insulation
Robust, durable and lightweight, Ufoil insulation is constructed using polyethylene bubble which has aluminium to both sides. Known as reflective insulation, Ufoil is added between the lining and the framing of your studio or cottage range building. It works by reflecting radiant heat, helping to keep buildings cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, it also acts as a moisture barrier. Ufoil is water vapour resistance, rot proof has a high thermal reflectance and improves air tightness. Your building can be internally lined with Ufoil insulation to the walls and ceiling, then covered with either:
– 12mm redwood tongue and groove
– 12mm whitewashed tongue and groove, or
– 9mm painted MDF moisture resistant tongue and groove
40mm solid board cavity insulation can be fitted as an alternative to Ufoil insulation.
Our Malvern heavy duty sheds can be internally lined with Ufoil insulation and covered with redwood tongue & groove lining.
Solid board
Solid board cavity insulation comes as standard in Office range buildings, it is a material used to fill the cavity between the walls and floor of the garden office to reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency. It helps to create a barrier that prevents heat from escaping the building, leading to lower energy bills and improved comfort indoors. Our 50mm solid board cavity insulation can be covered with either:
– 12mm redwood tongue and groove,
– 9mm painted MDF moisture resistant tongue and groove, or
– 12mm cedar matchboard lining
Tyvek
Tyvek is a waterproof, breathable and durable material that will stop moisture going back into a building, helping to prevent damp and mildew. Tyvek is most often used on pressure treated buildings like sheds. For garden offices and studios with vertical cladding, Tyvek is fitted as standard.
